Charles Lindop Appointed NSW Chair of the AIIA
2nd February 2011. The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) today announced that Charles Lindop has been elected as Chair of AIIA NSW.
Charles comes to the role at a pivotal time for the NSW ICT industry and the Association, with an increased focus on the digital economy, getting a return out of the investment in the NBN (National Broadband Network), and an increased focus on ICT as a driver of economic wealth by the NSW government.
“Representing 40% of the total Australian ICT industry, the NSW ICT industry has demonstrated an ability to add significant value to the NSW economy, responding to and driving growth industries. In my role as chair I aim to sharpen our engagement with the membership, strengthen relationships across the wider business community, and continue our robust engagement with the NSW Government” said Mr Charles Lindop.
The AIIA is the peak representative of Australia’s information and communications technology (ICT) industry, with companies ranging from individual consultants to SMEs, large Nationals and the world’s leading multinational corporations. Members employ more than 100,000 Australians, many in NSW, generating combined annual revenues of more than $40 billion and exporting more than $2 billion in goods and services each year.
